The 6B7 Helmet is a kevlar helmet of Russian origin.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

Overview[]

The 6B7 helmet was developed alongside the 6B6 as a replacement for the SSh-68 by NII Stali. The titanium 6B6 was deemed too expensive to be produced on a large scale so the aramid-composite 6B7 was chosen instead. The helmet was visually similar to the U.S. PASGT helmet and was designed to allow a cap or headphones to be worn underneath.[4] The commercial version of the helmet was designated "P7" before it was given a GRAU index number.[11] The first model 6B7 did not have helmet covers so they were commonly painted in camo colors.[4]

 Variants[]

6B7-1[]

Armocom took over development of the 6B7 from NII Stali and produced the 6B7-1. The 6B7-1 featured an updated suspension system. [1]

6B7-1M[]

Modernized, with a new aramid-composite named "Rusar" developed by Armocom. The helmet was positively buoyant and offered greater protection than the previous variants. It shares the same suspension system as the 6B47 Helmet. Developed and approved for usage in 2008. [4]

6B7-1MM[]

This variant was developed as a prototype of what would become the 6B47 Helmet.[12]
